Cool Homes: The Tree House
This week we are bringing you to a Guinness World Records winner house in Crossville, T.N.
If you’ve ever dreamed of a treehouse when you were little or even as an adult, then this may be your dream coming true.
Horace Burgess, has built an almost 10,000-square-foot treehouse because he was inspired by God.
The man said that, after buying a piece of wooded land, his greatest dream was to build a tree house. However, after years of hard work, Horace ran out of material and was forced to interrupt the construction.
But as per Burgess’ words, God came to his rescue and promised him that if he built Him a treehouse, he would never run out of material again. Horace couldn’t refuse this offer and resumed his project.
Horace spent 11 years building the biggest tree house in the world. The house, that rises up 100 feet, incorporates a total of seven trees that support its windows and floors.
It has 80 different rooms, a church, a bell tower and, as the southern fashion requires, a 360 degree deck surrounding the building. However, instead of the bells, the tower has oxygen acetylene bottles that chime every day.
Even though Burgess welcomes everyone to the treehouse, in 2012, it was closed by the local fire marshal, who was concerned of the possible fire hazards, as thousands of tourists and visitors used to come to see the house every year.
