A + A STYLING TIP: PAINTING YOUR RADIATOR!

Share This Post:

Have you tried anything and everything to blend in that old radiator but nothing worked? Why not make it stand out instead!

In many cases, it can make more sense to paint your radiator than replace it with a shiny new designer one (You save $$$ and have the style you want).

Here are a couple of things you should know before getting started:

1. Make sure to isolate the radiator. You’ll want to paint it when it’s cold, and make sure it doesn’t turn on when you’re half way done painting it.

2. Use Primer. Did you know there is a special radiator primer that will help you ensure that any rusted or bare areas of the radiator surface are protected? Plus, it will also give a sound base for any additional coats of paint to adhere to.

3. Make sure the paint you are using is heat-resistant. In case you’re not able to use a specific paint for radiators, don’t forget to add a clear radiator overcoat to protect your art-work from the heat.

Now you’re ready to get started! What colour are you thinking of?
