| Cool Homes

I realized that I haven’t done a Cool Homes feature in forever, but definitely not because of lack of inspiration. There are so many beautiful homes around the world, I could spend a whole month going through the internet looking for homes to feature here. Well I came across this beauty, located right in the heart of Toronto and I just had to share it with all of you! It’s located at 262 Doverourt Rd in Little Portugal and it’s currently for sale for a $1,249,000 (I need to sell a few more houses to afford this one). The story behind this home is, the owner, Stephane Chamrad a Paris based architect and interior designer bought this dilapidated Victorian that had been abandoned for 30 years and didn’t even have a kitchen or bathroom, as a blank canvas for his imagination. With his roots deep in the Parisian culture, he wanted his home to reflect that too. Stephane wanted to keep the dining room separate from the kitchen so the host can leave the mess behind while entertaining guests. Another key element was to have more then one way to circulate through the home so that 2 people don’t have to see each other when passing through the home. If you know me well, then you’ll know how much I love all the character that Stephane kept while renovating this home including the original claw foot tub that was refurbished. I’m sure you’re dying to see it, so here it is……

The 411:

  • 4 bedrooms
  • 3 bathrooms
  • dressing room
  • semi detached
  • 25×100 feet
  • only downside….no parking!
  • listed at $1,249,000

What do you think? If you could, would you pay $1,249,000 for this home?

If you have a cool space or uniquely decorated place you would like me to feature here, make sure to contact me and I would love to see your home!
