Hey everyone it’s the realty queen and I am back with my one minute market update, this time for the first fourteen days of March. Although Toronto is experiencing some frigid cold temperatures the real estate market was anything but cold during the first fourteen days of March. Now the average selling price in the 416 area for the first fourteen days of March was $609,199 which represented a 4% price increase when compared to last years numbers. Now most of our housing sectors did well across the board and semi detached houses saw price increase of 10.6%, townhouses saw 7.8%, and condos saw 8.3% and of course this is all compared to last years numbers. Now our detached homes were slightly down compared to last years numbers because of a shortage in luxury deals during the first fourteen days of March. So now what does this all mean? It means that it continues to still be cold in Toronto and there is a massive lack of inventory and the semi detached housing sector is definitely leading the way in price increases so if you are thinking of selling now is the best time to do it, as there is still little competition out there and buyers are actively trying to find something and fighting their way through the battlefield of real estate.
