A central and diverse area.

Our Experience

After moving 12 times, we settled into Oakwood-Vaughan nearly 5 years ago. We had been dating 3.5 years, and had planned to only stay for about 2 years, but after just one year, we fell in love with the location, community, and home. This house and neighbourhood holds a special place in our hearts; it’s where we got engaged, where Amir got ready for our wedding, and where we’ve formed many, many memories.

How To Spend The Day

Enjoy brunch at our favourite spot, Emma’s (Country Kitchen) and try one of their limited homemade donuts on weekends! It has a smaller menu, but delivers consistent service, as well as friendly staff and owners. Follow that with a visit to Wychwood Barns to take a stroll through the Farmers’ Market.

How Accessible Is It

Oakwood-Vaughan is conveniently located within a 15-20-minute drive to downtown, uptown, the airport, and highways. Residents can easily grab groceries, go out for dinner, or find some weekend entertainment by foot. There are also major transit lines and connections within 10-15 minutes, including 24-hr buses on Ossington and Dufferin, the St. Clair streetcar line which connects to St. Clair West Station, and the Eglinton LRT, which is slated to be completed in 2021.

Who Lives Here

This community has a diverse demographic that includes families, young couples, seniors, and a strong Portuguese population.

What’s The Real Estate Like

Oakwood-Vaughan’s real estate is primarily made up of freehold homes, typically run as single-family-homes, but sometimes seen as multiplex units (i.e. basement apartment or multi-unit). There are also some low-rise rental apartments that are generally well-maintained.
