12 Days of Kindness | Don’t be a Christmas Grinch

An act of kindness can boost happiness
Share This Post:

This year, don’t be a Christmas Grinch and help us support Covenant House, by participating in our 12 Days of Kindness Challenge!

Being kind has a lot of pros, but sometimes, when you are asked to do something kind to share on social media, to support a charitable cause (any reference is purely casual 😜), it can be tough – even if it’s something you do everyday.

We want to make it easier for you to support this cause, and we are doing so by sharing a few ways you can be kind. Use this inspiration, grab a friend or partner, and do something good: spread some kindness! You’ll be surprised how contagious it is! And don’t forget to let us know by tagging us on instagram (@amirandaleks) and using the hashtag #12DaysofKindness! We will donate $ 1 for every kind act you do, which supports our challenge and Toronto’s homeless youth.

So, why don’t you…

  • Give some food to the homeless
  • Get in touch with an old friend or relative
  • Help an elderly person or someone in need
  • Pick up trash from the street and throw it in the proper garbage can
  • Do something kind for yourself
  • Make a clothing donation
  • Give someone a compliment
  • Volunteer for a charitable organization
  • Teach a useful skill to someone
  • Talk to a lonely person
  • Donate toys to a charitable organization
  • Express your gratitude
  • Help someone carry their groceries
  • Watch someone’s child so they can have a break
  • Offer your extra reusable grocery bag to someone who needs one and save our environment from more plastic
  • Shovel snow for a neighbour
  • Be present for your partner/family/friends
  • Participate in 12 Days of Kindness

Any act of kindness, however big or small, is never wasted!

Did this inspire you to get out there and do something kind? Let us know and share your kindness with us!

Our 12 Days of Kindness challenge is supporting Covenant House, Canada’s largest agency serving at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth. Covenant House Toronto changes lives by providing the widest range of services and support to as many as 300 youth a day.  A national leader, they educate and advocate for change by influencing public policy and delivering prevention and awareness programs.
More than a place to stay, they provide 24/7 crisis shelter and transitional housing on-site and in the community, along with comprehensive services including education, counselling, health care, employment assistance, job training and after-care.
To do all this, they rely on donors for more than 80 per cent of their $30.6-million annual operating budget.
Their doors are open to youth 16 to 24 regardless of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity or the circumstances that have brought them to their doors.
Since opening their doors in 1982, Covenant House has served more than 95,000 young people.
