Cool Homes: Villa Vals

This week we are taking you to Vals, in Switzerland, to explore a holiday retreat dug into the alpine slopes.
Built 72 feet (22 meters) into a slope, this tunnel-shaped villa left the surrounding nature undisturbed and unobstructed by any sort of architectural development. But the site’s beauty is not the only element that makes this home so special, large windows at the entrance, allows lots of natural light inside, while its underground structure provides relief from heating & cooling costs.
