Who doesn’t love birthdays, anniversaries or any kind of celebration that gives us the opportunity to spend some time with our loved ones?

So, get ready because our young country is turning 151 this year, and although this may not be a milestone as significant as reaching the 150th anniversary celebrated last year, it still adds 1 year more to our beloved Canada.

If this is not enough reason to celebrate, then what is it?

With no further ado, let us share with you some ideas to celebrate our country wherever you are in Toronto.

Do you love skateboard art? Then you will not want to miss this summer-long event, with a special opening for Canada Day long weekend.

Are you into horse races, live music, and Brad Paisley? This event is for you!

The Queen’s Plate Festival is a 3-day festival and kicks off on Friday, June 29 with a concert by three-time GRAMMY® Award-winning and multi-platinum-selling country music superstar, Brad Paisley.

  • Canada Day at Amesbury Park (July 1)

Multicultural entertainment, children’s activities including a talent search, flea market and vendors are the main attractions and activities this Canada Day at Amesbury Park.

Explore Toronto’s history through tours of the fort’s original War of 1812 buildings and the Visitor Centre and enjoy family-friendly activities and performances.

Enjoy a day of non-stop fun and activities, including music, dance and children’s shows.

Scarborough Museum will host their annual celebration in Thomson Memorial Park this Canada Day. Don’t miss their demonstrations in historic blacksmithing, spinning, weaving and leatherworking, the Scarborough Historical Society Archives tent, and the annual pie eating contest.

Are you a parade lover? East York is organizing a great one for this Canada Day. It will begin at 10:00 am from Dieppe Park and travel through East York ending in Stan Wadlow Park.

Multicultural dancing and music, carnival games, free bingo, information table vendors and food will be part of this event.

Why not experience the excitement of a 19th-century carnival? At the Black Creek Pioneer Village, there will be performers juggling fire, attempting daring feats of strength and amazing you with unbelievable magic tricks.

The Community Folk Art Council of Toronto, a not-for-profit organization, is proud to present its annual Multicultural Canada Day Celebration at Yonge Dundas Square.

Enjoy performing arts, visual arts, crafts, dancing, information and foods representing cultures from around the globe that have made Canada, and Toronto their new home.

This might be the picnic of the year! Woodbine Park is offering midway rides, great eats and a great selection of beers this Canada Day.

Enjoy FREE activities for the whole family, and a spectacular fireworks show to end the night at Downsview Park.
