Cool Homes: The Flintstones House

Share This Post:

Who else loved watching the Flintstones?

This week we are taking you back in time to the Flintstones’ age, more exactly to their real life house!

This Malibu home is minutes away from the beach and sits on 22.89 acres of land.

The idea for this project came from the architect, Phillip Jon Brown, who suggested to create a house that looked like a rock formation since it’s situated next to the Santa Monica Mountains National Recreational Area. And so, this home ended up featuring tons of Neolithic decor, irregular shapes and stone colours. While the exterior looks like real rock.

While it may look like a massive structure, in reality, this one bedroom and 2 washroom house is built using light materials combined with concrete.

But have we mentioned the stunning panoramic views? From there you can admire the Pacific Ocean, Channel Islands, Boney Mountains, Serrano Valley and of course, LA.

We know you’re dying to see it, so here it is!
