Exploring Toronto: Happy Guacamole Day!

Share This Post:

Did you know that today, September 16th, is Guacamole Day?

So, what better way to celebrate the tastiest of dips than dipping chips in a guacamole bowl? To help you out, we have collected our favourite Mexican restaurants around Toronto.

So, let’s start digging in some guacamole sauce!

King Tacos – 1190 St. Clair Ave. West | Corso Italia

Opened in the early ’80s, this is one of the oldest restaurant we are writing about today. If you’re looking for authentic yet large portion of tacos and more, this is the place you want to be!

By far, it’s our favourite Mexican spot, and dangerously close to our home. We didn’t settle move to this neighbourhood for its tacos and guacamole, yet that could have been a good enough reason! So, if you haven’t tried it yet, that is something you’ll definitely want to do!

El Catrin – 18 Tank House Ln. | Distillery District – Waterfront communities

If you are looking for a colourful and delicious Mexican experience, than this your spot! You may enjoy the last bit of warm weather on their large, heated patio under their spectacular oversized chandeliers.

If you think you may be mesmerized by the colourful architecture and design of the place, you may be wrong, as the food and drinks are something you wouldn’t want to miss as well!

Extra: For the brave ones out there, you may add chapulines (crickets) to your guac, for a full Mexican experience!

Mad Mexican – 405 Jane St. | Bloor West  Village

If you are looking for a quick lunch stop in Bloor West Village, then the Mad Mexican has the best Mexican dishes in the area. You’ll LOVE their chunky guacamole, homemade tortillas, traditional mole poblano and so many other goodies on the menu!

Xola – 2222A Queen St E. | The Beaches

Last, but not least, for a full guacamole experience, check out Xola!

This Mexican restaurant in The Beaches serves a great traditional guacamole, plus many varieties including a blue cheese and walnut guacamole, a smoked salmon guacamole, and another filled with cactus, pineapple and arbol peppers. You’ll be spoiled for choice!
